  • Locally last year in Major League Baseball’s draft. Five players from Xaverian were chosen out of the five OF Michael Hernandez, who spent this past season at Daytona Beach Community College in Florida was picked by the Royals in the 20th round, and RHP Chris Garcia who also attends Daytona Beach was drafted in the the 29th round by the Seattle Mariners. In the same round as Chris Garcia, the San Francisco Giants picked CF Dan DeSouza who had an outstanding season at Connors State College in Kansas.

  • Midwood High School’s Softball Team are the 2003 PSAL “A” Division Softball Champs. They defeated Tottenville High School 1 to nothing.
  • In the United States Basketball League. The Pennsylvania Valley Dawgs defeated the Brooklyn Kings 127 to 109.
