BRIClab Residency and Commissioning Program

Since its premiere in 2007, BRIClab has nurtured a number of talented performers working in theater, dance, music and multi-media performance. Local artists are granted intensive, one-week residencies where they can investigate new works, develop creative partnerships, and present work at various stages of development.

BRIClab artists-in-residents receive: exclusive access to BRICstudio, up to 40 rehearsal hours, technical support, production staff, and an extensive marketing package. Artists are paired with a Creative Advisor from their field who will provide mentoring and feedback throughout the development process. Residencies culminate in multiple work-in-process presentations and opportunities to engage in moderated audience dialogues through our eLABorate conversation series.

BRIClab grantees are selected through a curatorial process. We will accept unsolicited submissions at BRICstudio, 647 Fulton Street, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11217. Due to the number of submissions, no materials will be returned and only artists under consideration will be contacted.
