Wata Sound
Marie Afonso, a founding member of the Grammy-award winning group Zap Mama, curated an evening of spontaneous and uplifting music to the studio with special guests from the vocal-centric collective Wata Sound, a new organization for musicians and performers dedicated to world, tribal, traditional and contemporary music and performing arts. Participating artists included: Navaz Dogah (vocals/tabla,Pakistan); Dean Bowman (vocals,USA); Jojo Kuo (percussion,Cameroon) Francis M'bappe (bassist, Cameroon); and K. Cissoko (cora,Mali).
