Dresch QuartetDresch Quartet (Hungary)
This jazz quartet creates strong and evocative music, not entirely steeped in one genre. The group is comprised of Mihaly Dresch on tenor and soprano saxophone, Kovacs Ference on violin, Szandai Matyas on acoustic bas and Bálo Jstvan on drums. In addition to the traditional instrumentation the members of the Dresch Quartet have developed a new sound by incorporating ancient Hungarian musical instruments like the cimbalom, the furulya and other ethnic percussion instruments.

Patrizia Scascitelli (Italy)
An Italian pianist currently residing in New York, Scascitelli employs a variety of styles, tempos and moods, improvising with graceful ease. She is a versatile musician and she approaches her music with an adventurousness that manages to preserve the basic themes below the surface of each song. At BAM café Scascitelli will play original compositions with fine-tuned arrangements of standards.

Maria RaducanuMircea Tiberian and Maria Raducanu (Romania)
Romanian critics consider Mircea Tiberian to be the most accomplished jazz musician in his generation. The German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung called him "the main personality in Romanian jazz in the last decade." For his latest album, Viata lumii, the pianist joined forces with vocalist Maria Raducanu. The intense artistic communication between these two artists, the fresh blend of ethnojazz and world music, make this a landmark collaboration.
