7:00 pm & 9:00 pm - Free Space Unit (France)
New York-based, French site-specific choreographer Yves Musard presents his project "Free Space Unit" - a space for everyone to move, create, exist. His set consists of lassos, a slide machine, four orange cones, a compass and other instruments to amplify our perception of space. Musard will be accompanied by David Watson playing contemporary bagpipe music. This performance will take place for 15 - 20 minutes at 7 and 9 pm.
8:00 pm - Mezzo (Czech Republic, Denmark, Iceland)
Direction and performance by Secondhand Women. Mezzo is a physical and visual theater piece that is based on perceptions and prejudices that young women face. Five international women commiserate over being 30 and in-between plans, torn by expectations. This witty exploration provides a poignant and humorous look into subjects ranging from ex-boyfriends to butoh.
9:00 pm - ARTE (France, Germany)
A video screening of three films from ARTE's recent series Masculin/Féminin, a collection of ten films by male and female directors that provocatively address questions of gender and sexuality in contemporary society. In French with English subtitles. ARTE is a French-German TV station (founded in 1991) that creates programs of both local and international relevance, promoting understanding and discourse between the European countries and their people.
